Mike, Tom, and Tad in studio.
Mike has all sorts of new blinking stuff here to send out a Facebook stream that meets his standards. This week was a test, and any feedback will be welcome. We are all pretty sure Mixlr is still the cool deal because of the live chat room, but if Facebook works better for some of you, great.
The guest tonight had been requested over and over again by lots of listeners, and we were all really looking forward to this show.
Paul Yaw of Injector Dynamics!
The subject of injectors is often discussed, and aside from size, seldom discussed in detail. If you think about all the different aspects of injectors for just a split second you can start to appreciate how complex they are. What is the best placement? How important is spray pattern and atomization? What is the best fuel pressure for a given injector? All great questions, and a chunk of them get explained on this one. Paul is an extremely knowledgeable guy and full of great info. We will be sure to have him back sooner rather than later. if you are a fuel injection guy, you should listen to this one.
Live again next week Monday night at 7:00 PM EST on Mixlr.com. Call in number 908 751 0211. Live callers welcome, and this will be the line for giveaways.

Mike, Tom, and Tad in studio. Tom is has returned from Japan.
Finally, Tom returns. He was in Japan for a trade show. It sounds like it was actually pretty interesting as long as you like octopus. He's a sick man, what can we say.
The plan was to discuss Drag Week, and that was a complete swing and a miss. We need to get Tim from Coast and Howard from Redline in the near future to go over the loose ends. We will save that for another show.
Somehow the topic of rod bolts and engine building gets started. Rod bots are by far the most stressed, as well as important, bolt in any engine assembly. There has been lots of discussion of torque, stretch, angle, and a variety of combinations. Mike is a straight up "know what you are working with, use your torque wrench guy". Tom sounds a little more of a stretch guy, and they both agree angle is a little strange overall. Lubes, torque wrenches, and techniques are discussed. It's not super high level stuff, but it is stuff you need to know to be successful at preventing an oil pan failure.
Next Injector Dynamics Paul Yaw will be on. This has been a much anticipated guest, and we hope all you guys get questions together and send them on Facebook.... or better yet CALL. The guys will pick you up.

Mike, Alan (AKA Fuddly), and Tad in studio.
Tom is away again, and Alan stopped by to take his place. We mess with him constantly but he's a good sport.
There was no real plan for tonights show, but it worked out ok overall.
Drag week spare parts and issues people encounter comes up, and you can tell Mike is scheming away already. There are two different mindsets on how to do this. Mike wants to show up race and drive home. Alan wants to bring everything that has ever broken on a car in the last 5 decades. Mike rationalizes what he needs to make this successful out of the box.
Then the subject of rules comes up....
Engine builders tend to think about things a little differently. They don't look at rules as a set of things you can and can't do. They look at rules for what holes the rules did not specifically close up. Mike knows the idea of the rules, but like to poke at them.

Mike and Tad in studio, Tom is on a covert special OP dubbed "Operation NutBowl".
With this New Year the guys are going to continue focusing on getting quality quests. It's always a blast to learn from some of the best in the business. It's not always easy to schedule, but when we get them it's more than worthwhile.
There was not guest scheduled for tonight because Tom was away. The show was going to be Mike, Tad, and good ole Fudd just shooting the breeze. That all changed over the course of the day when we received a message from....
Scott Clark of Real Tuners. Scott is going to be up in our area hosting an EFI school at Fonse Performance in South Jersey. The dates as we have them are March 4th and 5th, and details can be found on the RealTuners Facebook page.
Scott was on once before, and is a professional level tuner to say the least. He has worked with many of the top names in our sport, and there is very little about fuel injection that he can't address. Mike and Tad discussed quite a few topics, and some of it does get a little more technical on this episode.
Scott will be in for a "live" show on what we believe will end up being March 6th. Scott, and the guys, would like to have this particular show be a "Ask the FI Guy" call in show. All the listeners have plenty of time to gather questions, and this should be a great tech/learning experience.

Mike, Tom, and Tad in studio.
Happy New Year Everyone! Lets make 2017 Healthy, Fast, and Safe!
We are all getting a little concerned about Mike. He seems to be way way way into cleaning that Excursion. He really might need some help....
Tonight BJ McCarty of VMP Performance calls in to discuss the history of VMP and the the direction of the company as of late. Forced induction, specifically supercharging, has made its way under the hood of most domestic hotrods. Ford Mustang, Chrysler Hellcat, and Chevrolet Corvette to name a few. VMP has been known in the Mustang world for some pretty potent street packages utilizing the VMP superchargers. Our very own Fireman Jeff actually had one their units, and several goodies from these guys. The story of the company evolution is worth listening to, and it does not stop there. VMP is moving into markets other than Ford, and that sure should get the attention of some factory supercharged guys.
Tom is in Japan next week, so Fudd will return once again to do the show. He was nice enough to make the little Power and Speed... uhh metal things.. I guess. So make sure to call in and thank em (or tool on em either or is fine)
