048 - Power and Speed - Fred Turza from VP Racing Fuels

Snow Day!  Mike, Tom, and Tad in studio.  Off days are tough for Crunch, not to mention the blizzard we had screwing everything up around here.

Pro Stock test passes are filtering out, and its looking like they have adapted pretty well.  The guys had a little pool going, and so far with a pass of 212.5 Mike is feeling pretty good about his guess of 212.5.  Tom said 209, Tad said 210, Mike said 212.5, and Crunch is in at 217.  This is price is right style, so closest without going over.  If these numbers hold up Tom and Tad are out, and it's gonna be all Mike unless someone goes 217.

People want guests, and we get it.  We are working on lining people up for future shows.

This week Fred Turza from VP Racing Fuels comes on to talk fuel.  There are lots of things people do not understand about fuels.  How to pick the right one, why certain fuels are used for certain types of engines, and how to handle the fuel for your racing vehicle.  Everyone knows who VP is, now listen to what to use from them.

Live again next week Monday night at 7:00 PM EST on Mixlr.com.  Call in number 908 751 0211.  Live callers welcome, and this will be the line for giveaways.

047 - Power and Speed - Cams, Pro Stock, Guests

Mike, Tom, Crunch and Tad all in studio.

Project SubaTard, SubaTad, or whatever the code name is for Tad's car will be started very soon.  The guys are going to take the motor out at Mike's and it was told to Tad a long time ago that it was not going to "rest" at Mike's for two years.  Get moving Tad.

Camshafts, lots of info out there, but how to really understand it. The guys all like Engine Labs, and you should too.  Like any other resource, you should read and then do additional research.  No one place on the web is going to teach you everything about any one subject.  Mike has said many times over the years he learned a little something from seeing something that was done by someone else.  You can almost always learn something from someone else no matter how bad they are.

The NHRA Pro Stock EFI debut is going to be here before you know it.  Tom is going, and Mike might go, to see how close they are to where they were.  A little wager has started and the guesses are made.  Lets see how good these guys get these things.  From what we have heard, they are not off much in initial testing.

One of the things the guys want to get more into is guests.  They really can get a super wide range of guests, but that does not mean you want to hear them.  How technical do you want to be?  How do they cover a broad range of interest with listeners from Import to Domestic not to mention Street to Strip.  Post suggestions on face book, and the guys will line stuff up.

Live again next week Monday night at 7:00 PM EST on Mixlr.com.  Call in number 908 751 0211.  Live callers welcome, and this will be the line for giveaways.

046 - Power And Speed - Nick Filippides American Racing Headers

Mike, Tom, and Tad in studio.  This show was recorded on Wednesday and Crunch could not make it.  He'll be back next week.

First, Mike took the blame for no show on Monday.  It's hard to do the show without him since he pushes the buttons with all the cool lights.  In the words of a host past "my apologies" comes to mind.

Nick Filippides owner of American Racing Headers is with the guys tonight on the phone.  The mystery of headers cannot possible be unraveled in a 1 hour for so show.  Headers are one of the most misunderstood pieces of black magic and we hope Nick brings a little clarity to this subject. American Racing Headers is the OE supplier of the factory drag race cars headers from GM, Dodge and Ford, and that certainly say enough about the level of their quality and expertise.

Live again next week Monday night at 7:00 PM EST on Mixlr.com.  Call in number 908 751 0211.  Live callers welcome, and this will be the line for giveaways.

045 - Power and Speed - Howard Tanner from Redline Motorsports

Mike, Tom, Crunch, and Tad all in studio.  Happy New year everyone!

From time to time the guys do talk about things other than scarfs and nail polish.  Sometimes there is some good info from some very good guests.

Tonights show is all about the build of Mike's C5 Corvette. This is actually the second shot at this one after a technical malfunction tanked the first show.  The lost show was good, but this one was a blast.

Howard Tanner from Redline Motorsports is the authority on late model fuel injected performance.  This show outlines the planning stages of this build, and was good to get a high level view of what needs to be done.  Follow this one along, and with a little luck by the summer this will be a vehicle roaming the streets of NJ. (yes it will still be yellow)

Live again next week Monday night at 7:00 PM EST on Mixlr.com.  Call in number 908 751 0211.  Live callers welcome, and this will be the line for giveaways.
